Catch all inputs: Keyboard tester & mouse tester
Press any key, click any button or scroll, and see it on screen right away. Free, with nothing to install. Press Esc to leave.
Online keyboard tester
Check that every key on your keyboard works. Press a key and its name fills the screen, turning pink for as long as you hold it. A key that shows nothing may be dead, and a name you didn't press points to a stuck or misread key.
- Letters, numbers, function keys, the numpad and arrow keys
- Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Option, Win and ⌘, alone or in combinations
- Browser shortcuts such as Ctrl+T and ⌘W, in Chrome and Edge
Online mouse tester
Find out whether your mouse buttons, scroll wheel and sensor are behaving. The counter goes up by one for each press, so a worn switch that double-clicks stands out when one click adds two.
- Left, right and middle click
- Back and forward side buttons
- Scrolling up, down, left and right
- Mouse movement, followed by a pink dot
Why catch all inputs?
Most key testers stop working as soon as a shortcut closes the tab or a side button goes back a page. This one runs in fullscreen and holds on to every input it can, so you can press anything without losing your place. It also picks up gamepad buttons, touch, pen, copy and paste. Only Esc gets through, and it takes you back here.
How to test your keyboard and mouse
- Select Start the test. The page goes fullscreen.
- Press each key, click each button and scroll in every direction. Recent inputs are listed along the bottom.
- Press Esc to leave and see how many inputs were caught.
Common questions
Is this keyboard and mouse tester free?
Yes. There's no account and nothing to download. It runs in your browser.
Which browser should I use?
Chrome or Edge on a computer. Only they let a page catch shortcuts such as ⌘W and Ctrl+T. Other browsers still show keys and clicks, but act on those shortcuts themselves.
Why doesn't a key show up?
The key may be faulty, but some inputs never reach the browser. Operating system shortcuts and the Fn key are often handled before a page can see them, so try the key in another app before replacing anything.
Does the site save what I type?
No. This site only shows your inputs on the page. It doesn't store them or send them anywhere, and the list clears each time you start. Cookieless analytics count visits, tests, test length and ads, never what you press.
